Panama Hospital

Comprehensive management of the construction work of the New Hospital in Panama City

The Panama Caja de Seguro Social has relied on Prointec to inspect and control the construction work of the capital's new hospital. This new complex will give health coverage to more than 3 million people and, once finished, will be the largest healthcare structure in Central America.

Prointec provides the project's comprehensive management services whilst the work is being carried out, which involves the management of the schedule and costs, the management of the construction company's contract and the monitoring of quantitative and qualitative quality control of the work.

The new hospital will cover a total of 219,465 m2, on an area of 32 hectares to be developed, and is composed of a set of buildings divided into two major blocks: General Hospital and Paediatric Specialities Hospital. Likewise, an energy production and water treatment industrial area will be developed to supply the hospitals and a hotel building to cover long family stays.

The complex will have 1,708 beds, 49 operating theatres, 33 image scan rooms, 252 emergency points and 295 outpatient clinics. The installations will cover all the current technological requirements for this type of building.
