Management of Line 1 of the Quito Metro
Prointec is part of the GMQ Consortium that performs management work on Line 1 of the Quito metro.
The Metropolitan District of Quito, with a population of 2.3 million inhabitants, generates a total of 4.6 million journeys per day, with more than 70% of them being made on public transport (bus). The orographic complexity, the growing demand and the configuration of the city required a mass transport, sustainable and independent of the urban routes, such as Line 1 of the Quito metro.
Prointed is providing the project management services during the construction work, which involves the review of the engineering studies, the planning and costs management, management of the administration of the construction company's contract and technical monitoring and the resolution of unexpected events during the execution phase of the civil works, installations, commissioning and operation.
The first line of the metro goes North-South with a length of 22.6 km, fully subway, 17 stations, 2 interchanges with buses and an area for Workshops and Garages. 18 trains with a total of 108 vehicles will be provided for the initial operation.
