Supervision of the construction of a new section of road
Prointec is the majority partner of the consortium that is supervising the construction of a new section of Red Vial no. 6 (Puente Pucusana - Cerro Azul -Guadalupe) belonging to the Pan-American Highway South. Specifically, this project corresponds to the construction works of the second stage, located in the Ica Region. This second stage covers the stretch between the Chincha Alta Exchange and the San Andrés Junction, where unique projects are being executed, such as: The Chincha Bypass (41.1 km of dual carriageway), 4 bridges (240 m. each), 4 road interchanges and 4 flyovers.
Each day, thousands of vehicles (IMD > 7,000 vehicles) that made the round trip from the south had to cross the city of Chincha, which meant between one and two hours of delay in completing the journey. The dual carriageway is now open to traffic and as it does not pass through the urban area of Chincha, this time is saved in the journey. This work will not only benefit those who travel by land to Pisco and Ica, but also those who travel to Arequipa, Cusco, Puno and Ayacucho and to the border with Chile. It is estimated that around 8.5 million residents and travellers will benefit directly from the new road.
The infrastructure that is the object of Prointec's work has emerged as an important lever for economic development in the area. Likewise, the implementation of this motorway improves the flow of internal tourism, reduces costs in transporting agricultural products and benefits the mobility of loading from the ports of Paracas and ICA to the interior of the country and enables fast, fluid and secure communication of goods with the important port of Callao, Peru's main port.
