Prointec has developed the functional design and project drafting and will manage the construction work of a new Traumatology Hospital in Colombia. Located in the city of Montería, it is a highly specialised centre covering 43,000 m2. The building will comprise 12 floors, a basement, a helipad and a 10,000 m parking area2. In relation to the medical facilities, the hospital complex will have 250 beds, 7 operating theatres, 13 outpatient clinics, emergency services, specialised imaging area including CAT scan, conventional X-ray, ultrasound and CT, and an Intensive Care Unit.

Prointec drafted the basic and execution project using BIM methodology and has taken into account the parameters established by the LEED certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) for the design. This certification, created by the US Green Building Council, is composed of a set of rules and recommendations for the development of buildings based on sustainability and high efficiency criteria. The Health and Functional Plan has also been studied and analysed, as well as the plan of the equipment needed to adapt the medical needs of the centre to the size of the building.
