Drafting of Guipuzcoa's 2050 strategy to combat climate change (EGLCC 2050)
Climate change is a matter of great interest at both the international and local level. The Guipúzcoa Regional Government has therefore supported the creation of its own strategy to combat this problem within its territorial scope, and Prointec is responsible for its development.
The drafting of Guipuzcoa's 2050 strategy to combat climate change (EGLCC 2050) is proposed in order to establish, within the historic territory of Gipuzkoa, a proprietary transversal model of climate governance for all the departments and policies in the Gipuzkoa Regional Government, with a long-term time frame that corresponds to the goals and action lines in the Basque KLIMA 2050 strategy, international climate actions and the transition towards a low-carbon economy.
The document drafted by Prointec analyses the situation of Gipuzkoa in this area and includes a series of objectives, programmes and lines of action to plan the fight against climate change in the territory, and the indicators and assessment measures to monitor it. At the operational level, the strategy involves promoting the use of renewable energies, eco-industries, sustainable mobility and the circular economy.
