Design and Supervision of Construction Works of the New Passenger Terminal Area of the Algiers International Airpor

Since 2013 Prointec has conducted the Planning, Design and Supervision of Construction Works of the New Passenger Terminal Area of the Algiers International Airport, Algeria. 

The new Terminal, located on the west side of the airport, will accommodate over 10 million passengers per year and will respond to the expected rise of air traffic for the next few years. The new infrastructure will have a total surface of 192.000m2 and its global investment amounts to more than 800 million Euros. 

Among the engineering and consultancy works carried out by Prointec are the design of 21 new passenger boarding bridges (2 for A380), 120 check-in desks, 9 moving walkways, 84 security checkpoints, 37 escalators, 54 elevators, the baggage handling system (with a capacity of 1.800 bags per hour) and 12 baggage carousels. Furthermore, a parking area associated to the new terminal will be built with 4.500 parking spaces and an extension of over 110.000m2.

Additionally, this Project includes the construction of an aircrafts apron of 410.000m2; service roads and areas of 40.000m2, flexible pavements of approximately 230.000m2, rigid pavements of around 140.000m2, with 35 stands of which 24 will be remote and 21 contact stands, as well as all equipments related to the future new "Terminal" area.
