Works awarded to Prointec include the comprehensive development project: detail design specifications, consultancy services for the bids evaluation process and, finally, the direction, management, and supervision of the construction works.

Prointec’s tasks are part of a comprehensive development project covering from the planning phase, with the Airport Master Plan, to changes on the airspace design and all related infrastructure: new airfield (including a new runway, the taxiways system and associated aprons), new control tower, new passengers Terminal building (including all necessary auxiliary facilities: power plant, thermo-cooling plant, treatment plant,…) and the development and interconnection of road accesses to the airport.

Once the construction phase is over, the Airport capacity will increase to a total of 10 million passengers per year and the Terminal Building will have an additional surface extension of 210 000 m2, doubling the current maneuvering area.
