PROINTEC activity concerning high-speed rail projects started in 1986, with one of the first European projects of this kind, held by the Spanish Government. This project helped to join the cities of Madrid and Seville, on the occasion of the 1992 Universal Exposition.

For more than two decades, PROINTEC has developed more than 1,500 km (900 mi) of high-speed rail projects, providing a wide range of consulting services, from the conceptual planning stage, design phase, up to the construction works inspection and control.

With more than 120 professionals exclusively devoted to rail projects, PROINTEC provides continuous support to its clients, at both national and international levels. The firm does not only focus on civil works - related aspects, but it also covers other fields such as electrification, communications, signaling systems or architectural design in the high-speed rail sector.
